BEAT THE CHAINS OF ADDICTION

Hey Hart!
I definitely find your comment that addiction "is not a passive activity" interesting - also somewhat counter-intuitive. Can you elaborate on that?
Also, how do you make sure your "involvement" is "straightforward"?
That "fooling the world catches up with you too" makes a lot of sense. How much pretending and having it catch up with themselves do people need to do before they change? It all seems fairly abstract - the difference between wanting to make positive change, and falling into the same old destructive habits. What is the difference? What designates the day when people up and decide to change their lives for the better?
All interesting stuff!
Cheers,

Solid response m.e.
With respect to my comment "addiction is not a passive activity" what I meant was you can not lay back on a sofa and expect for example "a 12 step program to do the work to discover the magic of wellness for you!"
If you view a HUB and are suspicious it is not forthright you can FLAG IT. It will then be investigated I believe. I will clarify this in the not too distant future.
m.e. reaching the promised land or in another perspective everyone has different levels of negativity. Some can live in a fantasy world fooling themselves for 6 months and others 6 years. The journey is different for everyone.
Using the AA statement, "Hitting Bottom" each person addicted has a different bottom where the pleasure of using is overpowered by the pain of abusing...then your bottom leaves you open for growth. Why? Because you want to break the chains of addiction more than anything else in your world and you shall end up doing whatever it takes to move forward into a wonderful world.
It is not enough to NEED to quit using or you will die unfortunately. You must WANT to face your devils in the eye. Every time you win a small battle and avoid the old destructive habits the devil has less and less power over you. You actually are beginning to create NEW Healthy HABITS.
When you truly decide to change and embrace all the goodness life has to offer and you let go of outcomes and forgive everyone and begin to love yourself you will be on the train tracks towards peace and joy.
?
if I can beat the STORM so can you
The information I am sharing won't help anyone who is not 100 % determined to do what ever it takes to move forward into wellness. Reaching a state of sobriety from all substance abuse free from the chains of substance abuse or it's big brother, addiction, is NOT A PASSIVE ACTIVITY.
Nothing worthwhile occurs without a struggle. Straightforward involvement is a prerequisite, as is unbridled honesty. If you must try to fool the world, at least do not fool yourself. In fact, fooling the world catches up with you too. Just ask me, a guy who did it. And believe me, it's very difficult. If it were not so everyone would be doing it. However wellness and sobriety are in the realm of possibilities. Come on along and join the "soul train!" We are all on the same train, some closer to the engine of hope and some back in the caboose.

Hi Hart. As the saying goes "you can fool some of the people some of the time but the one person you cannot fool is yourself. When people with addictions realize this they can start making their recovery. Your friend M.
